E-Visa Application

Citizens of some countries have the possibility to obtain their entry visa online (e-Visa). If you are subject to a visa to
Türkiye, you may be eligible for e-Visa. Please click on www.evisa.gov.tr
to check out whether you are eligible for e-Visa or not.

If you are a citizen of a country who is eligible for e-Visa, it is highly recommended to obtain your visa online. It is the quickest and easiest way to obtain the visa for touristic purposes. Applicants just need to log on to the mentioned web site, provide the requested information, and make online payment (after the application is approved) and download their e-Visa.

Please note that e-Visa is only valid for touristic and commercial purposes. Other purposes require different types of visas given by Embassies or Consulates.

e-Visa website is not operated by Consulates or Embassies. So all kinds of e-Visa issues should be directed to the e-Visa Call Center at +1 888 566 7656.

Holders of Canadian Travel Document (Blue Colour - 1951 Convention)

Holders of Canadian Travel Documents (Blue colour - 1951 Convention) cannot obtain an entry visa through the e-Visa system; regular visa must be obtained from the Turkish missions in Canada prior intended travel to


Türkiye, regardless of the visa regime applied to country of citizenship.

Canadian travel document holders may be eligible to obtain an entry visa valid only for maximum 30 days.

Holders of Canadian Certificate of Identity (Grey Colour)

Since the Canadian Certificate of Identity is not accepted as a valid travel document, holders of those documents can not apply

for an entry visa to Türkiye

Pre-Application System for Regular Visa Applications

An entry visa can also be obtained from the Turkish Embassy in Ottawa, the Turkish Consulate General in Montreal, the Turkish Consulate General in Vancouver or the Turkish Consulate General in Toronto valid for the requested number of days within 90 days.

As of January 5, 2016, all kinds of applications for Turkish visas will have to be made through the Pre­-Application System online via

www.visa.gov.tr and applicants must obtain an appointment. Accordingly all visa applications to Turkish Consular Offices must be submitted through this web portal. After having submitted and obtained an appointment, you are advised to be present at the Turkish Consular Office at least 5-10 minutes before the specified time. Take time before your visa appointment to ensure that you have all of the information required for the type of visa for which you are applying. Applicants must bring all of the documents they uploaded as hard copies including the application form, unprepared applicants may be required to reschedule their appointment.

If the interviewing consular officer informed you that your visa has been approved and your case does not require any additional administrative processing, your visa will be issued in 5 to 8 weeks and will be sent to you with the prepaid envelope from Canada Post which you submitted during your appointment. Applicants with inappropriate uploaded documents may be turned away and may be required to reschedule their appointment.

Turkish Consulate General in Toronto’s area of jurisdiction covers the provinces of Ontario (except Ottawa with the National Capital District and its East), Manitoba and Nunavut.

Initial Application Documents

The following initial application documents are required from the nationals of all other countries and Canadian travel document holders:

* Application form

* Biometric photo

* Documents attesting to the income status of the applicant and inviting person, such as a bank letter, or bank statement (if you are not employed (student, housewife, etc.) provide proof of your spouse's or parent's employment and income)

* Hotel Booking or Invitation done by notary public in Türkiye (must include the name, address and telephone number of your host)

* Supporting document on the applicants commitment to return (land registry, business certificate, pay stub, bank account statement)

* A valid medical insurance for the duration of the stay

* A self-addressed prepaid return envelope from Canada Post (return envelopes from FedEx, DHL, UPS, Purolator and other courier companies are not accepted). Passports will only be returned by mail.

* Fee: CAD 77.00 (single entry) / CAD 241.00 (multiple entry) in cash or money order payable to "Turkish Consulate". Personal cheques are not accepted and the fee is non-refundable

Validity Period Requirements for Passports

Foreigners wishing to enter Türkiyeshould carry a passport (travel document) with an expiration date at least180 days (6 months) from their date of entry to Türkiye.

Process Time of Regular Visa Applications

We strongly suggest the application to be made two months before the planned visit to Türkiye. It takes 5 to 8 weeks for the visa to be issued.

Expedited Process is Non-Existent at the Turkish Consulate in Toronto

Since flight and hotel reservations are sufficient for visa applications, purchased flight tickets and hotel accommodations are not required. It is solely the responsibility of the applicant to purchase flight tickets, hotel accommodations or make other arrangements before obtaining a Turkish visa. Therefore purchasing flight tickets and/or hotel accommodations beforehand does not guarantee a Turkish visa.

Arrival to Türkiye

It should be acknowledged that the possession of a visa does not automatically entitle the traveler to enter Türkiye upon arrival at a port of entry. An officer at the port of entry will decide if you still meet the requirements for admission when you arrive. If there has been a change in circumstances between the dates of your application and your arrival to Türkiye, or if subsequent information is given which was not originally available to the visa office, you may be refused entry.

The validity of your visa will be indicated on your visa. If you overstay your visa, you might be asked to pay fines, deported or banned from future travel to Türkiye for a specific period of time.

Transit Traveler

Passengers coming to a Turkish airport and not leaving the transit lounge at the airport are not required to have a transit visa. In order not to face any difficulties at your departing airport, please make sure that your airline company knows this regulation prior your travel.

Cruise Passengers

Cruise passengers coming to a Turkish port by a cruise ship and leave Türkiye by the same cruise ship for another country are exempt from visa for a maximum period of 72 hours (with the permission given by the local security authorities).

Children under the Age of 18

Children under the age of 18 travelling to Türkiye without parents must have a notarized parental consent to travel from either both parents and their non-accompanying parent, as applicable.
